I love the colors. My favorite thing about your images is the unexpected use of colors. I always expect something different and when I see it I am blown away at how you manage to make it all come together~
Aww thank you!! I really really appreciate your very thoughtful comment. I get stressed out about colors, so I'm really glad you think they work well together. I'm about to start a harvest witch piece with oranges, yellows, and reds...I'm terrified! lol
Thank you so much Melissa!! I'm so happy that you like her. I think I'll be on an 8 x 10" kick for awhile. I love doing them, because I can put in the most detail. And then I can also sell them in a variety of sizes for prints, so it's like the best of both worlds!
I know, the level of detail in your paintings is so amazing!!! Yay for more 8 x 10s! Congrats on how well they're doing on ebay, that's so great. Someday I will have money and buy all the prints!!! Hope your to-do lists are getting shorter... and Halloween is only two days away! Are you doing anything fun for it?
Oh geez, this comment is so late! I'm so sorry!! My to-do lists are getting longer lol. But I think that will be the case for many years to come, perhaps for the rest of my life! And I did have so much fun on Halloween. I went to my mom's house. She lives in a fairly young neighborhood and she had over 150 kids! We started to run out of candy so we had to scrounge around for things to hand out. I wanted to give them prunes, but she said no lol. We ate a great dinner and just laughed all night long. What did you do?
Lol no worries, I totally feel you. School has been swamping me so much I'm forgetting everything else. I think for Christmas you and I both need someone to do everything on our 2007 to-do lists!!! I'm glad your Halloween was so fun, that sounds great. Unfortunately all I did was homework, and Tim had school. We didn't get a single trick-or-treater at our apartment! So we just ate all the candy I hope you have a good Thanksgiving... jeez, I can't believe it's already here!!! Next thing we know it will be Christmas... no I take that back! Too much stuff has to happen before then!!!
Aww I'm sorry that no trick-or-treaters came to your apartment! My sister and her husband have the same problem. Every year they get so excited, carve a pumpkin and get lots of candy! Last year they had two kids and I think this year they had four. I don't think my boyfriend and I would get a lot at his apartment which is why we go over my mom's hehe. And I hope you have a great Thanksgiving too! Eat lots of yummy food!
Wow, that's so funny! It's weird which places get trick-or-treaters or don't. How was your Thanksgiving??? Did you get to spend it with both your family and your boyfriend? I was so bummed I didn't get any painting done all week, I feel so behind! I saw you have a bunch of beautiful new paintings in my devwatch... Stop making me feel inadequate How's your website going?
My Thanksgiving was really good! We went to my sister's house. It was her and her new husband's first time hosting Thanksgiving and they had both our family and his family over plus my boyfriend lol. I think it was a little overwhelming for them, but they did a good job! It was a lot of fun. What about your holiday?
Lol yes, I do paint a lot!! But unfortunately I have to. Sometimes I wish I could take a breather, but since I sell on eBay, my sales fall way behind if I don't have an original painting up for sale. I think the originals draw people in and then they're more apt to buy other things. But sometimes I just go crazy because I don't feel like I have time to do anything lol. But I have to keep reminding myself that I'm doing what I love!
And the website is fine. It's all done and it's easy for me to add things when I need to so I can't complain!
What a truly wonderful witch! I think this is an excellent painting. The soft yet bright colors of the watercolor really give this piece a magical atmosphere. The shading is great because it's not to dark, but gives more subtle hints of where the light does not fall (I'm guessing the ink was used to shade). And of course the drawing itself is a real treat. I love all of your smaller details like the candles in the tree, the bubbling cauldron, the cute cats and even the tiny mouse! The witch herself is a beautiful gal and I love the way you designed her outfits and such vibrant colors. I guess I really like how you deviated from the usual black clothing they seem to always put witches in. Either way this is a really fun and whimsical piece! Certainly a fave!
Eeek this took me way too long to respond to!! I'm so terribly sorry. This is such a sweet and thoughtful comment. I really appreciate all the different parts of the painting that you complimented! You are so kind!!
